Tis the season to get killed..

You know I might be a little morbid by this but just a few things on my mind right now.

1)      TSA Modifying their pat downs, because we are a nation of bitching and moaning on stupid issues

2)      Seeing History repeat again over religions, nationalities and separatist issues. Christmas, Kwanzaa and Yule, man made holidays and everyone thinks there is the right one. WTF. Side note: some interesting information on Kwanzaa

3)      Wake up this morning with a nose bleed throat swollen and puffy eyes. I am sitting at my desk with no Friggan Cell phone cause I forgot it.. Grrrr..

4)      Finding that school will be taking Christmas out of the system. Sooo Why not call it winter holiday you fucktards. Everyone wants to be fair there is fair on that one.

5)      People bitch about things in people’s yards for the winter holidays and guess what? People are limiting our freedoms even more. More bitching more rules no one is really happy with that shit.

6)      I would like paper cut free wrapping paper Thank so much.

7)      I would gifts to be already wrapped on command. >_> Well it would be nice.

8)      I wish Cats did not have this nature of batting at little shining balls on trees and thinking it’s their person play ground. :glares at Ash:

9)      What is it with Corn bread mixes all different and the cheaper ones make the best? What the hell is that all about?

10)  When will idiots on the roads realize that driving on ice does not mean this a ice skating show.

#1 -- See now, I can't aggree that the problem lies with "a nation of bitching and moaning on stupid issues", seeing as how I KNOW a person who was sexually assaulted by TSA "investigators" under guise of a search they had no legal grounds to make. (They saw her kissing her girlfriend goodbye, and decided to teach the lezbo a lesson -- yes, they as much as said so during the 'questioning'.)

The TSA is like the gestapo in the airports, Steph -- there are no laws to stop them acting like that for any reason they want. If this will give people some means of legal recourse against Agents who abuse the powers the TSA allows them, then I see it as a good thing. Because right now? If a TSA agent decides that your shoes look like they'd fit her niece, she has twenty ways to just take them away from you. And you can't do dick.

Yes. It can happen here.

Yes it can however a person has the right to say no .. I prefer you did not search me there I will be happy to do this in closed door with another rep of security. If they do not comply then you can go to a administrator and complain about this. There are rights that people are just not aware of in airport security.
Yes there are some perverts out there how ever I know they have to do back ground checks on these people before they can start with the job. Also people that feel sexual violated should speak up but like rap victims they are ashamed it happened. If people where more educated and encouraged more then maybe security would not be compromised liked this.

If one agent will search your chest, what on earth makes you think that two wont do just the same behind a closed door?

What you are not seeming to get here is this is a Good Ole Boy ornganization, they do what they want and stamp Security on the title of it and it goes by without any trouble.

I would love to see some stats not produced by TSA on what all they have actually prevented from getting on planes in the last 3 years of harrassment.

What I would love is a fair world.. But until people stop and educate themselves on their rights and stop bullies like the good ol boys system and prevent corruption in the system by setting complaints like these and helping maintain better guidelines. But then again you can't please all the people all the time ehh?

Someone will find something flawed because we are all flawed at the end just have the make the best of it. I suppose

you know, you could print this out and take it with you and it doesn't mean jack shit, they will say it's been revised and not reached the internet yet. I found that out when I tried to take a PLASTIC crochet hook on the plane and they took it away from me and said I couldn't have it, even though it said right there on the print out that I could have crochet hooks or even knitting needles!

thing is, you will miss your flight if you take the time to have them page a supervisor, wait for him to finish his coffee and donut before coming down, and then for him to back up the security guy in the first place because he's pissed about having to hurry his coffee and donut., Then you ask to speak to HIS supervisor, who won't be in until later that afternoon.....I know all the stupid red tape steps that can be taken to make them obey the rules, but then there is the sad reality of time or lack of it...or if you have to go legal action..the money, or lack of it, to hire an attorney.

That's why in some ways it's good that these people have drawn press attention to it. The bad publicity actually reaches the person who can set his foot down and says "knock that shit off", whereas an individual trying to do it could spend days on the phone and still never get to talk to or leave a message for the right person. It's happened to me way too many times, I've even resorted to showing up in person at some companies (where it was possible) and refusing to leave until the problem was resolved. That's not feasible in this instance.

Yes the press sometimes makes mountains out of molehills and really stretches shit sometimes to sell thier papers, but they DO have a good purpose. Bad publicity can get the needed response much faster and much more widely spread than just a few people playing phone tag with the staff answering service.

I know they are supposed to screen these people, but really, I doubt the question of whether or not this woman who mauled me was a sadist or not was on the questionare. Most of the time it's just things like have you been convicted of any type of crime (and they don't have to have a clear record to get the job...you can have misdemeanors on your record and get employed for security positions.)Do you have any family involved in special forces, CIA, FBI. etc. I know this because I helped a friend fill out his form to apply for security work. He had been caught shoplifting once when he was around 12, which yeah, no biggie...I don't think that is something to keep him from getting a job. But just because they screening questionare is filled out to thier satisfaction and the background check is okay still does not mean that the security person is a good person. This woman I dealt with obviously enjoyed hurting and upsetting other people.

I just hope she's gotten thrown out of that job by now (as that's the airport I most frequently have to travel too) and has gotten work somewhere where she doesn't have the authority to be abusive to people.

The other aspect of the whole thing, especially for someone who is PTSD and an abuse survivor is that you go into shock and panic when this shit happens...it gets very confusing really fast becuase you are angry, scared, feel in dispair, embarrassed and your whole system is just saying run run run run!!! It's happening again, run away while you can! Keeping a cool head and asking for supervisors and managing to go through explanations and everything without have a near nervous breakdown would be damn difficult for some of these people.

Yes I know they viewed and liars in this country cause too many people that do lie about abuse it and it gets over used in the media. I should know I am one those victims.

No I have not had that type of experience in American Airports I have had issues in customs in other countries but I told them I would happy to show if they would back off, they did so. The people I am talking about that are bitching are the ones that have not been victims in the airports they are howling with a pack of them.

Mind you there are different ways of pat downs I have been patted down a few times in security situations none of them I felt it was sexual. And I see your views on the matter too and they are valid and it is said when a system is abused by an official but why should the safety of others be lost? That is my concern about this. Mean while I do hope that We both have a better day .. Goddess willing it will be short one and I can escape to the confines of a warm bed.

but people have been speaking up and you said they were bitching and moaning?

I did vocalize very loudly when it happened to me, I screamed bloody fucking murder when she pinched my nipple and burst into tears screaming don't touch me don't touch me!!! There were people in line who had been watching her who were ready to lynch the bitch because she did it for like five freaking minutes, me obviously getting more and more uncomfortable and upset by the minute...and of course by that time I was nearly late for my plane and did not have a chance to speak to a supervisor or complain or anything..I called later and played phone tag with 50 people at the airport and got nowhere.

>_> you I should have made this a little more clear about this and I apolgize but I Belive strongly believe bitching and moaning is different from Doing and taking action. Banning a procedures is something I feel is rather a lose lose situation. Better to have ideas from the public on better ways to do things.

YOU were doing something taking action you were not were not bitching and moaning about it. There is a real difference there

yeah, but sometimes going to the papers and asking them to do a story on it to draw publicity to the problem is a good way to go, especially if you have wasted three days playing phone tag with practically everyone at the airport trying to get some kind of response about the situation!

well, I bitched and moaned on that issue I'm afraid to say...long before the russian bombing thing, two years ago in fact I went through security and my underwire bra set off the detector...this woman was grabbing and squeezing my breasts, she even pinched one of my nipples through the bra. I was molested as a child by a group of poeple, I don't like strang people touching me and this was WAY OVER THE FUCKING TOP, completely unacceptable. I was willing to comply with a reasonable check, still am, but that is NOT acceptable.

You are right that is not acceptable. That is not proper procedures and I am sorry that happened to you.

Every time Tegan flies back and forth to Galveston I ask if she got a frisked and so far she hasn't. I'm a guy and I think that's going too far. What I read on it was that they try to assign a woman to patdown another woman, but if they aren't available then they don't have to. Maybe that's changed in the month since I read the article. But if I was going through the airport and somebody wanted to frisk my girl in front of me I'd go bananas. I'd try to grab her and run out of the airport and if they stopped us and did it anyway, I'd fight them off as long as I could and hope a judge would understand when they haul me to jail. There's just something sacred about my girls goodies and touching them is the one thing in the world I can say would truly make me lose it.

She knows that, and I think she'd lie about not getting frisked anyway. <_<

You know.. would you be even more pissed off if someone slipped by and had something Hidden that was harmful to hurt her or the air plan she is on?

It's a price. Have you ever been frisked? Yes there have been issues of people getting sexually assualted and reported But there are those that are doing thier jobs and get punished for others crimes. Now because ill managment of security and ill use of a voice it could cost more lives. No I dont like that idea one bit. THERE are better was to protect and do searches. THERE are better procedures out there that can help not feel so violating or embarssing. But for now there is a gap there waiting to be expoilted.

Well it's can be looked at like this
I am frisked almost every time I go through the air port, on one occasion it was by a female, and yes it was a full search, belt shoes socks jacket the works, you go through the same sort of scrutiny getting into a concert here in Chicago. Now that being said if you are going to do it to one person you must do it to every one I really don't believe in profiling. This means you are going to need more personal to conduct the searches and of course this increases the number of times that someone in that position will abuse there power. Rules are simple the more agitated you get the more perverse they will get, if you give them the power the will take it. Number two take their badge number and name nothing can or will be done about the incident if there isn't some one to charge. Finally and here is where people will disagree with me part of taking a plain flight now includes this kind of security if you disagree with it don't fly, if you fly, remove any reason for them to search you, take everything off your person and put it through x-ray, do not take anything that could even be considered a weapon. This all means if you don't absolutely need it do not take it, if it is something you absolutely need but might come into question, well that what UPS is for, Sucks I know, but this is a service they are providing and like any service industry they have the right to refuse it. No one should be molested in the process, but you must have as much information as possible when you step through the door. Above anything else the sooner people realize that the days of care free plane trail are gone, the sooner we can get this country moving again. Sorry for the rant but the facts are there. Remember that just because you feel safe flying with you that doesn’t mean any one else does.
