A cockroach.

Because it's tough as fuck and doesn't let anything stand in the way of survival.

Well sounds about right for you considering all the adversities you have faced in your life

It would be cheating for me to answer this question, because I already KNOW which totems have chosen me. And why.

But I'll admit to being curious about which totems YOU think would choose me and why. *Pokes*

0.o;Given to the possibilities, I would have guessed Butterfly cause of the ideals of changes in stages, engulfed the reminders of how brief life can be and continue a cycle to pass down.

That or Hummingbird it’s fierce independence for such a small creature and yet has to keep moving to continue their life. I feel this little spirited creature could teach me a lot of things about the restless energy inside me and how to harness it for something more productive and beneficial for the existence of life.

Crap.. I mis read that. For you I would have said Boar, I know it seems kind of weird but for me boar is a noble creature that the blunt force to shine light on things and continue to have pride and loyalties to the courts of nature

*Grin!*

That's okay. I figured you wouldn't have posed the question to everyone else if it hadn't been on your mind regarding yourself.

Boar, eh? I can see that. Territorial and hardy as well, able to survive and thrive when introduced into new situations, able to naturalize reasonably well, dangerous when roused, but intelligent and crafty when domesticated.

Now to tell you who really walks beside me, it's Hawk at present. But until a few years ago, it was Puma. He finished teaching me what he had to teach me though, and moved on. I've been getting a tickling feeling of tiger recently, but I've been resisting looking in that direction, lest I become a walking cliche, you know? I mean my brother may call me Tora-chan, but there's already too damn many tiger grrls in this world, aren't there?

Now that seems fitting with all the life changes you have been going through ^_^

Tiger? Might be something there never hurts to look even if there are alot of Tigers out there, Maybe there is a life event lesson alot of people are sharing that need that asspect.

I know Phoenix is still there gripping on me and shaking me around sometimes.

Snow Leopard is stil lteaching me things I keep solitude in my heart that I am not willing to share, but learn to manage and not let fester.

Been thinking about this overnight, actually.

I think porcupine would have a lot to teach you right now. Because contrary to the way it appears, porcupine is about playfullness, not defensiveness. It's about trusting its own natural defenses to keep it safe, so it can relax and actually enjoy things without having to be aggressive or chase predators away from it. Lessons we redheads have a bit of trouble picking up on our own, neh?

Ironically...
I wasn't gonna answer this either - because I know my totems & why they chose me. I have coyote, dragonfly, and cat.

Coyote - always tripping over themselves and joyful pranksters, but they always seem to survive it and teach a lesson.

Dragonfly - soars over the things that impede others, has a different point of view than most, and appreciates the time that it has

Cat - well, we all know what cats are like... Lol.

I chose the Tiger as my personal symbol to stoke me into action during my divorce 3 years ago & got the Chinese symbol for Tiger tattooed on my right shoulder. I invisioned myself becoming strong and beautiful and confident. It is my birth animal on the Chinese Zodiac Calendar (1974). I started this LJ during my divorce... and there ya go.

Seek out tiger if you feel she is calling you - if she's not ready for you, she will come back in due time.

Re: Ironically...
Well, I've had more than a couple of people say they felt I was a Tiger, and they weren't exactly blunts, so... *Shrug*.

Maybe the Striped One is padding along there. I don't know for sure. Although given the fact that I went from a priestess to a solitary in one month's time, it might have done then. Tigers are the most successful predators on land precisely due to their solitary nature, after all.

You actually have dragonfly? I didn't know that he stayed with anyone. I've only known him to visit, teach a lesson, and go away again. Cool.

Not sure if he did stay... last I checked (which a year later... he was *still* there...) maybe it just takes me a long time to learn my lessons...

Well, when I was little I always felt a particular love for cheetahs. I loved to run as fast as I could and imagine myself being one. I suppose that is sort of totem-ish.

When I think about it, my love of cheetahs is still there, just not as strong now. Sitting here thinking about it, I can say that I'm drawn to owls and griffins. Can't really say why for sure, but those are my picks.
twilightfenix
Jun. 30th, 2005 03:51 pm (UTC)
Cheetahs are the Bushman pets." They symbolize gentleness (in fact, cheetahs are the only members of the big cat family that may be effectively trained: the Persians and Mongols even coursed deer with them, having them sit up a padded cloth on a horse behind the huntsman between chases). OWLS are, not surprisingly, about far sight.

Certainly something canine. Dog seems likely. Maybe Coyote if you want to throw the trickster spin on there.

If I could choose?
Obviously turtle picked me. I am grateful to her that she did.

But if I could choose ANY creature, it would be a Unicorn. I do not have what it takes to be adopted by unicorn, but the way I see him is this.

The epitome of innocence. The symbol and protector off all that is beautifully innocent. Yet at the same time physically strong and magestic, and capable of being fierce. And at the same time every cell in his body is magik. His breath and blood are magik. He seems to me to be the perfect embodyment of beauty. But I do not have that kind of stregth and majesty. Nor do I really believe that magikal creatures are totems (except that I do believe yours, strange).

Anyway. I still love unicorns. And turtles.

Like many people, I already know most of my totems.

My primary is wolf:Wolves are the epitome of stamina, known to run 35 miles a day in pursuit of prey. They are highly misunderstood animals, who have gained the reputation of being cold blooded. In reality wolves are friendly and social creatures. Aggression is something they avoid, preferring rather to growl or create a posture to show dominance. Even though living in close knit packs provide wolves with a strong sense of family, they are still able to maintain their individuality. Wolves represent the spirit of freedom, but they realize that having individual freedom requires having responsibilities. - http://www.animaltotem.com/wolf.html

My secondary is bear for patience, strength, and the tendency to appear mean and intimidating but to actually be rather playful. I have several others to a lesser degree as well. And that's not even touching magical creatures.

Although, I haven't gotten any in 2.5yrs, so I dunno if I could still do that.

It'll be 3yrs in December, though I'm hoping not to let it get to that.

My problem, if you choose to call it that, is that I don't like to go out, fuck a woman, and have that be it. I like to actually know and give a damn about the girl I'm with.

the 4 times thing was penetration over the course of an hour.

The 12 hours was about 75-80% foreplay. Honestly, if the numbers were any heavier towards penetration, I would have gotten bored. Besides varying positions and tempos, I find intercourse to be too repetetive and too much like the previous times. Foreplay however allows me to actually play and have fun. It's nice because I can play mentally as well as physically, and there are so many more options for what I can do.

I know for sure what my totem is. Eagle. We talk, not as often as we should, but we talk regularly.
