Gah! Our house was $200 this month, and I thought that was a lot. But Texas is higher I've noticed recently.

Wow, what does your bill normally average? Maybe they lost your last payment and double-billed you?

Ah electricity
It powers our lights our computers, radios ect. Oh did I mention AC, I have this lovely advantage I have no AC don't really need it my place is around 90 which is livable. I feel your pain thought my gas bill in the winter is something around those lines. TU is over priced to boot.

Believe me, I've seen electrical bills like that and worse with my parents back home in West Texas. With temps that range from 95 to 120 in the summertime, the air conditioner runs full blast for three to four months.

What you need to do is (if this bill is not in error) analyze your electrical needs/usage. Make sure to turn off lights when you leave a room. Turn the A/C off when you're gone to work or any time you're away from the house for more than a couple of hours.

You may already do these things, or you may not. ^_^ Just some suggestions that I know have helped my parents out before.

Now, if the bill is in error I would take it up with TXU. Check your previous statements and gauge an average mean of what your bills usually are and compare them with this one. Think to make sure that you're not overlooking some power expenditure that you might have had in the last month, then take it up with TXU. Let them know that you don't usually use that much power, show them your previous statements to prove it.

I hope some of this helps, and I hope you can get things straightened out.

The problem is I dont live at the aparment any more. There is only one person living there. I show on the bill that the payment was recieved for the last on cause it shows posted here.

I have a strong feeling this was for AC useage that could have been prevented to be this high. But What can I do about it but pay for something I have no use in. Odd how that works?

=( Thanks for your support. BTW how do you feel about coming up here on Sept 6th?

Take a look
Compare if you can, your last bill and this one see if TU pulled my favorite untility backstab and upped the price of the power. It would be the price per Kilowatt/Hour or possible line service fees. We had this happen on winter in Cinci, they double the "dilivery charge" in short the bill that mouth was almost 400. We thought we might have had a gas leak until we compaired previous bills and saw it was the gas price it's self that had gone up. Unforotunitly there is nothing you can do about it but at least it would explain what is going on. Just a thought.

EEEE!!! That cannot be right! I have been gone nearly every weekend (turning the AC way low everytime I leave), we haven't had a TV or stereo to drain energy, and since I don't have the internet, I'm not hardly ever using my computer.

Think we could check to see if that bill is correct?
